Yuka Ishizuka is a young Japanese violinist whose work has been described as a ‘lyrical outpouring of purest joy’. (Music and Vision)
Yuka began playing the violin at the age of three in Boston, USA at Suzuki Music School.
Since then, she has gone on to achieve international acclaim by winning numerous awards, including first prize at the International Young Musicians’ competition, The Worshipful Company of Musicians Award, and has more recently been selected as an artist for the prestigious Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform.
Her exceptional ability has also being recognised in the performance world.
Earlier this season, she performed her first Tchaikovsky Concerto with Sevenoaks Symphony Orchestra and Guildford Symphony Orchestra. This September she will reach the highest point of her career yet, performing with Camden Chamber Orchestra and Croydon Symphony Orchestra at the Last Night of the Fairfield Park Proms, where she will also give the première performance of a newly written piece by renowned Greek composer, Atanasia Tzanou.
A CD recording with pianist Simon Lane is due to be released later this year.
